An isolation facility run by Covid-19 in central Auckland has been evacuated due to a false alarm.

A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said they were alerted at approximately 6.15 p.m. to a fire alarm at the Rydges Hotel on Federal St.

Three fire crews responded but discovered “fairly quickly” that it was a false alarm, he said.

A witness reported seeing the occupants of the official Covid-19-run isolation facility evacuated and on Federal St.
