People who visited six Auckland stores are being asked to watch for Covid-19 symptoms or get tested.

It comes after health authorities said several locations were visited by an Air New Zealand crew member who was under investigation for the virus.

On Monday, Air New Zealand said the staff member tested negative for the virus in New Zealand on November 18, but that upon arrival in Shanghai on November 22, he tested positive. All other members of the crew tested negative.

By early afternoon Tuesday, three close contacts of the Air New Zealand staff member had been identified in Auckland, and all are now in self-isolation.
