A new case of coronavirus found in controlled isolation was reported on Saturday.
The government will decide on Monday whether Auckland can go down to alert level 1.
Any decision that is made will take effect at 11:59 pm on Wednesday.
The case is that of a person who tested positive after arriving in New Zealand on October 1 from England via Hong Kong.
They have now been transferred to the quarantine facility of the Jet Park Hotel in Auckland.
The total number of confirmed cases of the virus is now 1,493, and the total number of active cases is 41.
Only eight are community cases.
No one is in the hospital with the virus.
With early voting for the elections starting Saturday, the Health Ministry said measures had been put in place to prevent any possible spread of Covid-19.
People are asked to scan anywhere they vote using the tracer app, to use a hand sanitizer when entering and leaving, and to bring their own pen if possible.
Even for most of the country at alert level 1, people are being asked to stay away from others.
On Friday, the labs processed 5,728 Covid-19 tests, bringing the total number of tests completed to 976,369.
