There is a new case of Covid-19 in a Christchurch managed isolation facility.
The person arrived in New Zealand from the United States on October 8, the Health Ministry reported Tuesday.
They returned the positive test on the third day of their isolation and are now in quarantine.

A spokesperson for the World Health Organization uses New Zealand as an example of a country whose response to Covid-19 has been effectively communicated to communities.
It comes after zero new cases were announced Monday.

The case brings New Zealand’s total of confirmed Covid-19 cases to 1,516, which the ministry will report to the World Health Organization.
Only 39 of these cases are active and none are receiving hospital treatment.
Seven people have recovered from the coronavirus since Monday.
There are no active cases outside of managed isolation, meaning New Zealand is on its 18th day with no community transmission.
To date, more than one million Covid-19 tests have been completed. The labs processed 3,017 tests on Monday.
More than 2.3 million kiwis have been registered with the NZ Covid Tracer app, which has registered more than 90.5 million poster scans.
