An eighth member of the Pakistan cricket team tested positive for Covid-19.
The Health Ministry said it was the only coronavirus case reported in New Zealand on Wednesday.
The team member was one of three cases reported Tuesday as under investigation, but now had a confirmed active infection.
The ministry said the other two cases were still under investigation.

The team cannot train until the Canterbury District Board of Health medical officer is satisfied with any training activities that are unlikely to transmit the virus.
The team, which is housed at the Chateau on the Park in Christchurch, was previously criticized by Director General of Health Dr. Ashley Bloomfield for violating rules within the facility.
Team members were seen on video surveillance footage mingling, sharing food and chatting, he said.
The reported violations occurred within the touring group and did not affect other guests on the premises.
Compliance with the rules has “improved significantly” since then, the ministry said.
November Quarantine Group
No epidemiological link had been identified between a Defense Forces worker with the virus and an AUT student who were part of the November quarantine group, despite “extensive investigations,” the ministry said.
All six cases in the group were linked via the genome of their Covid-19 infection, and the Defense Forces worker, the index case, was linked via the genome of their infection to recent returnees at the facility. Auckland quarantine.
The group comes from the Defense Force worker (Case A) who was stationed at the Auckland Quarantine Facility, Jet Park.
The group also includes cases B, C, D, E, and F.
Case B is a civilian worker from the Wellington Defense Force who helped conduct a workshop on Army values and Case C is another civilian from the Defense Force.
Case D is an AUT student who tested positive for the virus on November 12 after Case A spent time in the city near where he lives and works while he was infected the day after the workshop, on November 5.
Case D infected a neighbor at 106 Vincent St apartments, known as Case E.
Case F was a close contact with Case B.
Efforts to find a link between cases A and D included reviewing CCTV images, but had failed to identify any significant contact between the cases.
All close contacts of the cases identified as part of the November quarantine group had completed their scheduled tests and all had tested negative.
The group would close 28 days since the last case in the group recovered and was released from isolation.
