New Zealand has recorded its third day without a new Covid-19 case.
With the Budget delivered at 2pm, the Covid-19 1pm press conference in the Hive has been replaced by the issuance of a Ministry of Health press release.

Dr. Bloomfield gave the latest figures on New Zealand’s response to Covid-19.
Today’s third day of zero cases means New Zealand’s combined total of confirmed and probable cases remains at 1,497, and 94 percent are now considered to have recovered from the virus.
With no additional deaths to report, the number of deaths remains at 21.

Two people receive hospital care for Covid-19, one at Auckland City and Middlemore Hospitals.
On Wednesday, the country passed the milestone of conducting 200,000 tests of Covid-19, the equivalent of just over 4 percent of the population.
Since then, the labs have processed another 6,568 tests, bringing the total number of tests completed to 209,613.
On the first day of Alert Level 2, the Ministry accepted advice that it should use an improved definition of a closed group, incorporating two full transmission periods, the equivalent of 28 days since its last case was reported.
Four previously closed groups have been updated and reopened to reflect the new definition.
“From a public health point of view, taking this step makes it easier for public health unit staff to retain appropriate public health measures, such as isolation, while continuing to learn all they can from different groups.
“From a public point of view, this means only minor changes to the information on our website,” the ministry said.
The agency wants New Zealanders to continue practicing key health behaviors at level 2, including social distancing, by asking sick people to stay home and use good hand hygiene.
If people show symptoms of a cold or flu, the advice is to call a doctor or Healthline right away and arrange to get tested.
