George Hollings was a confirmed Covid-19 death on Saturday.
There has been another Covid-19 death: a Rosewood Rest Home resident in Christchurch who was transferred to Burwood Hospital.
George Hollings, in his 80s, died Saturday morning. It was considered a probable case and he had underlying health conditions. The Ministry of Health shared his name after his family asked him to.
“George had many friends for whom the family did not have contact information and would like them to have the opportunity to cry together with his family,” the ministry said.
The family will remember him as a “true Kiwi guy, a diamond in the rough, who loved stalking deer.” They also thanked the staff who looked after him.
