There are still more than 100 active cases of Covid-19 in managed quarantine and in the community.
A student at Sunnyvale School in west Auckland is one of the country’s newest Covid-19 cases.
On Saturday, the Ministry of Health announced two cases, both epidemiologically linked to existing cases and associated with the Mt Roskill Evangelical Fellowship bereavement subgroup.
The ministry confirmed that the Henderson student was not contagious when he last attended school. No close contacts have been identified within the school community. Sunnyvale School remains open and is considered safe.
There are 15 cases linked to the grieving event and 33 cases linked to the scholarship. Ninety-eight percent of the congregation has been tested.
