White Silence is ranked second on Apple’s New Zealand New Zealand podcast chart for 2020 and 10th on the overall list of 2020 New Zealand Biggest Shows.
Two Things Podcasts have been named to Apple’s New Zealand Best of the Year lists for 2020.
White silence ranks second on the list of biggest new shows of 2020 and 10th on the list of biggest shows of 2020.
The eight-part joint production between Things and RNZ marked 40 years since an Air New Zealand plane crashed into the Erebus volcano in Antarctica, killing all 257 people on board.
The series was written, hosted and produced by Michael Wright of Things and Katy Gosset of RNZ.

Things Election 2020 Podcast Tick, tick. – the work of journalists Eugene Bingham and Adam Dudding – ranked eighth on Apple’s Biggest New Shows of 2020 list.
White silence won a gold medal at the 2020 New York Festivals Radio Awards, one of the most competitive awards of its kind in the world, with entries from more than 30 countries.

It also won Best News / Current Affairs Podcast and Best Documentary or Fact Talk at the 2020 NZ Radio Awards.
At the Voyager Awards, White silence won the award for best serial narrative / podcast and Dudding’s mental health series Out of my mind was a joint winner of the Best Episodic / Recurring Podcast.
Dudding, who is it Things director of podcasts, said that being recognized by Apple was the icing on the cake, after podcasts produced or co-produced by Things It practically swept the Voyager and NZ Radio Awards this year.
“White silence is an impressive piece of journalism, thanks to the hard work of Things RNZ’s Michael Wright and Katy Gosset, along with the production team, ”said Dudding.
He and Bingham had produced Tick. Tick. and its associated podcast Coronavirus NZ “Under tax conditions from our respective bedrooms.”
“Make company on these Apple lists with destructive organizations like the BBC and the New York Times it’s phenomenal, ”said Dudding.
