All Whites star Chris Wood has broken his and Burnley’s goal drought.

Wood had not scored in eight games for his English Premier League side, which has been the lowest scorer in English football this season, before Tuesday morning’s home game (New Zealand time) against Crystal Palace.

But the great New Zealander changed that in the eighth minute when the ball landed on him in the penalty area and easily passed Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.

Burnley’s last goal in the EPL came five games ago in a 3-1 loss to Newcastle.

Wood’s goal turned out to be the winner, as the hosts kept Palace under wraps, with goalkeeper Nick Pope making a strong save in injury time.
