Turk’s Whole Bird Manuka Smoked chickens are being recalled for concerns that they are undercooked.
A batch of cooked chickens sold in major North Island supermarkets has been recalled due to concerns that the poultry is undercooked.
The Ministry of Primary Industries issued the recall late on Christmas Day.
The alert said Turk’s Poultry Farm was recalling a specific batch of its smoked Turk’s Whole Bird Manuka chicken as it could be undercooked.
The lot number is 6728 and its expiration date is February 3, 2021.

The Countdown and New World supermarkets in Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Taupō, Whitianga, Northland, Taranaki, Waikato and Wellington sell chickens.

MPI said customers should verify the lot number and expiration date on their product.
“The affected product should not be consumed. There have been no reports of associated illnesses, however if you have consumed this product and have any health concerns, seek medical attention, ”said MPI.
“Customers must return the product (s) to their retailer for a full refund.”
