In September, it was announced that the American company Discovery Inc would buy the television arm of MediaWorks, including channels Three and Bravo, and the journalism arm Newshub of MediaWorks, along with the streaming service ThreeNow, Three + 1, Bravo + 1. , The Edge TV and The Breeze TV.

MediaWorks, which is majority owned by US investment firm Oaktree, maintained its radio and outdoor advertising business.

Wallace said he was excited about the new role.

“While it is an industry change for me, the overall goals are the same and I look forward to exploring and capitalizing on growth opportunities in radio and outdoors in the years to come,” said Wallace.

He said that culture was the most important component of any business, and he was passionate about driving an engaged and motivated workforce with a common purpose.

There has never been a more exciting time to live and work in New Zealand, he said.

In announcing his resignation from Air New Zealand, Wallace said he would focus on career opportunities that would allow him to work on the world stage.

MediaWorks President Jack Matthews said Wallace would bring experience and a new perspective as the business focused on growing its radio and outdoor platforms.

“We believe Cam is the perfect choice to drive this agenda forward for years to come with his proven track record of delivering strong business performance and leading his people to best-in-class results.”

At Air New Zealand, Wallace was responsible for increasing revenue, opening up new market opportunities, and increasing strategic alliances.

He had about 2,000 employees working under him on a portfolio that included commercial, cargo, marketing, sales, communications, loyalty, alliance, and customer experience.
