Julian Varley is missing, police say.

Police have serious concerns for the safety of the missing Tauranga man, Julian Varley, after they revealed that bullet holes were found in the side of his car.

Varley disappeared in Tauranga on January 23.

The last confirmed sighting of him was around 3 p.m. that day, when he was captured on CCTV driving his 1998 blue and silver Nissan Pulsar at the Poike roundabout on State Highway 29a, Tauranga.

At around 1 a.m. on Friday, January 24, a member of the public found Julian’s car on fire on Oropi Road, near State Highway 36.

The car was totally destroyed by the fire.

In Police Ten 7On Thursday night, police said that bullet holes had been found in the side of the car and that they were concerned for Varly’s well-being.

Police said Varley had not accessed his bank account or used his cell phone since January 23.

He has had no contact with family, friends, including his two young children, while his partner is pregnant with their third child.

Police said they had serious concerns about him and that several detectives were working on the case.

“We are committed to finding answers for Julian’s family and friends, and we believe that the community can help us with that,” they said in a statement.
