Images have emerged of a violent fight that started after a man slapped a woman in an Australian bubble tea shop.

The video shows a man in a black T-shirt arguing first with the worker, 22, and then slapping the woman in the face, exacerbating the situation at the Adelaide CBD store on Friday.

The woman, from Rose Park, is then seen tossing what appears to be a black bag, which lights up the ceiling, before yelling at the man and beginning to hit him back.

They then kick her to the ground while others within the business start fighting each other.

All the arguments are in Mandarin.

Viewers who translated the video say the woman claims to have been fired from her job at the store, after working a few shifts, and demands to be paid for them.

South Australian police confirmed that they are investigating the attack.

They said officers had responded to reports of the woman’s assault at 9.25pm but said the suspect, who is known to the victim, had fled the scene.

The young woman was treated by paramedics.

Reddit users were appalled at the man’s behavior.

“What a disgusting human being. This needs to be on the cover so that it never works again,” wrote one user.

“He’s a bastard who hits a girl and then runs away when her boyfriend walks up,” said another.

“It really worries me. I hear stories every day of ESL students, immigrants, new Australians who are coerced or tricked into doing things by less wise speakers of their mother tongue because they don’t know they have rights.” one person commented.
