Only 2.2 overs were possible in the final match of the series before rain forced the players off the field, with the West Indies coming to 25-1 after losing the draw and being asked to hit first on Monday.

Over two hours of intermittent rain meant that the game could never be resumed, and the match was officially canceled around 9.15pm.

The decision meant the series ended 2-0 in favor of the Black Caps, who won game one by five wickets and game two by 72 runs.

New Zealand fast pitcher Lockie Ferguson, who took the only wicket that fell in Game 3 to bring his series tally to seven, was named player of the series.

Black Caps’ next T20 matches came with a three-game series against Pakistan in mid-December.

New Zealand and the West Indies went into match test mode, with the first of the two tests starting in Hamilton on Thursday.
