Black Cap Trent Boult spreads some Christmas spirit, warning of an incoming missile

Black Caps bowler Trent Boult goes to great lengths to get opposing hitters off the field … well, almost everything.

On Sunday, Boult was ready to take an incoming shot at the pitcher’s end in Hamilton when he realized Pakistan’s batter, Mohammad Hafeez, was running straight into danger.

“Watch out Mohammad,” he yelled in an early burst of Christmas spirit amid a T20 international.

The pitch buzzed just behind Hafeez as he made his ground, with Boult fielding.

Hafeez, who went on to score 99 not off with his last shot of six, was grateful for the extra pair of eyes.

“Thanks Boulty,” he replied, or at least it sounded like that.

Hafeez, who goes by the nickname Professor, says it relates to his inquisitive nature, used a microphone in the field.

Jokingly, he spent part of his time telling Stephen Fleming and Mark Richardson that he owed his power to golf.

Hafeez has been one of the best T20 players in the world in 2020, when he was unable to make the team earlier in the year. His new hitting power has earned him a spot.

Social media fans have seen that he’s made more golf posts recently, including an outing to Millbrook in Queenstown.
