One of the Highlanders’ favorite sons is online to make a dramatic comeback for Super Rugby Aotearoa.

Former All Black Ben Smith, who said an emotional goodbye to the Highlanders and All Blacks in 2019, is “against” returning to the Dunedin-based club, according to One News from TVNZ, but you haven’t signed a contract yet.

The imminent return from the outside reportedly comes on the same day that another former All Blacks outside, Nehe Milner-Skudder, was confirmed to join the Highlanders for the 10-week national competition.

He has been playing for the French club Pau in the French Top 14, but recently returned to Dunedin due to the coronavirus pandemic, A new reported.
