The return of All Blacks playmaker Beauden Barrett to the Miter 10 Cup this weekend is in doubt due to a minor injury sustained in last Saturday’s North-South game in Wellington.
New Zealand Rugby (NZR) said in a press release on Monday that the majority of the All Blacks would be sent to their provinces for the first round.
The All Blacks’ new lock, Quinten Strange, and hooker Dane Coles were no longer available, but NZR confirmed that Barrett, prop Joe Moody, forward Sam Cane, and midfielder Braydon Ennor would be evaluated by medical staff before they were released. make a decision on whether to play this weekend.
An NZR spokesperson could not specify what the Barrett and Moody punches were, but said Ennor had a knee injury. All Blacks captain Cane was already in doubt from a concussion he suffered playing for the Chiefs at Super Rugby Aotearoa on August 8.

Barrett was in line to play for Taranaki, Moody and Ennor for Canterbury and Cane for Bay of Plenty
