A young man who was charged with a confinement at Wellington High School was released on bail and his whereabouts will be monitored in real time.
At the Wellington Juvenile Court hearing on Wednesday, the young man’s attorney, Louise Sziranyi, requested bail to move to an address where he would be supervised at all times.
The Chief Juvenile Court Judge John Walker had previously sent the young man to a secure juvenile facility, but granted him an electronic bond after he was presented with a full report on how the bond should be monitored.
Police had previously opposed bail, but now support electronic bail.
