A test spell from Australian Pat Cummins and a brilliant one-handed grip from captain Tim Paine kept the Boxing Day cricket test against India in the balance on day two in Melbourne.

The big moment occurred with India’s treadmill Cheteshwar Pujara poised for another substantial hit, facing its 70th installment at 17.
