Forty-one holes were left in the walls and doors of a Manurewa rental after the tenant’s children became angry.
One woman’s children were angered and caused nearly $ 4,000 in damage to their rental in South Auckland, the Lease Court has heard.
In all, the boys made 41 holes in the walls and doors of Manurewa’s house.
Owners Jie Zhang and Jin Yi Wang told the court that the dishwasher door was also dented in four places.
They asked for compensation for wall repairs, dishwasher replacement, and power gate repairs after the lease ended.

The tenant, whom Stuff chose not to name to protect the privacy of her young children, said the damage to the walls and doors was caused by her children when they were angry.

Zhang and Wang requested a total of $ 3,787.95 for the repairs.
They also asked for $ 225 in compensation for replacing the dishwasher, but only $ 64 was awarded.
Leasing Court adjudicator Gillian Guptill said the damage to the walls and doors was more than normal wear and tear.
However, it did not allow Zhang and Wang to make up rent lost due to repairs and dismissed their claim for damage to an electric gate caused by the tenant.
The owner claimed that the mother had crushed the door motor, but said that it continued to malfunction despite being watched by traders.
The tenant described that people had to jump over the fence because the gate would not open.
Guptill said this meant there were ongoing problems with the door motor.
She awarded Zhang and Wang $ 3,787.95 for the wall and door repairs and $ 64 for the dishwasher.
