Armed police raided two properties linked to the Head Hunters motorcycle gang in Christchurch.
Police are searching the gang’s fortified headquarters on Vickerys Rd, Sockburn, and a Cashmere home linked to senior member Darrin Baylis Wednesday morning.
A police spokeswoman said members of the armed criminal squad participated in the operation “as a precautionary measure.”
“As the search warrants are ongoing, there are no further updates at this time,” he said.

The Head Hunters took over the Vickerys Rd property from the now-defunct motorcycle gang Epitaph Riders in October 2015.
The gang was considered the dominant force in the Christchurch underworld until a lengthy police investigation, Operation Block, exposed suspected drug trafficking in its ranks in December 2016.
As a result, several members and associates of Head Hunters are still in court on various charges, including supplying methamphetamine and participating in an organized criminal group.
The Vickerys Rd platform and other assets linked to the gang remain frozen under the Criminal Asset Recovery Act of 2009.
