The American rapper DMX is on life support after a heart attack, says his lawyer.

Murray Richman, a longtime New York-based DMX attorney, said the rapper was on life support Saturday night at White Plains Hospital.

“He had a heart attack. He’s pretty sick,” Richman said.

Richman said he couldn’t confirm reports that the 50-year-old DMX overdosed on drugs and wasn’t sure what caused the heart attack.

“I am very sad about that, extremely sad. He’s like my son, ”Richman said. “He is a tremendous person, a great entertainer, a great human being. And a lot to offer, a lot to say. Not your ordinary rapper. A person of great depth ”.
