Emergency services were called to a busy intersection in Rosedale after a car towing a boat and an ambulance collided.

An ambulance was trapped in an accident on the north shore of Auckland.

Emergency services were called at the intersection of Constellation Drive and Upper Harbor Hwy in Rosedale, where a car towing a boat and an ambulance collided around 12:15 p.m. Friday, police confirmed.

St John’s Ambulance Territory Manager Andrew Everiss said the ambulance was responding to a patient under lights and sirens at the time.

Additional ambulance teams were called in for the accident and three ambulance officers were taken to North Shore Hospital with moderate and minor injuries.

Three members of the ambulance staff were taken to North Shore Hospital after the accident, while the other driver was evaluated for minor injuries.

“The person in the other vehicle was evaluated with minor injuries,” Everiss said.

Another ambulance was called to treat the original patient.

“St John takes the health and safety of our patients and ambulance officers very seriously and we are providing support to those involved.”
