The legalization of cannabis is a public health problem and a problem of racism. New Zealand has failed the sick, Maori and Pasifika communities today. Incredibly disappointing and this is something that will always be a stain on our image as a progressive nation. # Referendum2020

I hope that the people who voted do not understand that this result will not mean that fewer people are using cannabis, but that they are using a product that is in the hands of literally anyone and that has no quality control.

Anyone who voted “no” in the cannabis referendum needs to look closely. You voted for the racist status quo. He voted against the overwhelming evidence that legalizing cannabis is the safest thing to do. Shame. In. You.

I respectfully demand a clear indication of the weed law reform goals of this new government. This is now one of the biggest social problems for which they are currently doing little. Elimination of criminal penalties for personal use and cultivation to a minimum. Urgent real medical access.
