Police believe a man assaulted several women at the Peachy Keen music festival in Wellington on Saturday.
Police are investigating after a man allegedly assaulted several women at Wellington’s first female-focused music festival, Peachy Keen, and are asking for the public’s help with the case.
The event, which took place at Wellington’s Basin Reserve on Saturday, featured the top 10 promising Kiwi female performances, beginning at 12:45 p.m. with Wellington-based KITA and concluding at 11 p.m. with the winning singer-songwriter. of multiple Benee awards.
Acting Sergeant Victoria Press said witnesses reported seeing a man assault multiple women in separate incidents overnight.
Just before 8 p.m., police spoke to a man they believed was responsible, but officers were unable to locate the alleged victims in the crowd.

The man was also charged with assaulting two members of the security staff working at the festival and was arrested. He will be charged with two counts of common battery, Press said.
Festival promoter Amber Mossman said she was aware of reports of a man behaving inappropriately with women.
Police and Mossman said festival goers were good.
