Australian Rugby League Commission Chairman Peter V’landys thanked the federal and state governments for their help in allowing the Warriors to cross the Tasman.

“This is an excellent result for the rugby league and another step towards the resumption of competition on May 28,” said V’landys.

“I want to thank the federal and state governments, particularly the Border Force and the New South Wales State Emergency Operations Center for their help in making the arrival of the Warriors a reality.

“The club will follow the strictest biosecurity protocols and, like all clubs, will participate in a protocol education day on Monday morning.”

“As a game, we cannot thank the Warriors enough for all they are doing. Since the start of this pandemic, the club and its players have put the competition first and for that we will be eternally grateful.”

As it stands, the Warriors will remain in Australia until the end of September.

More to come.
