Lottery: Another new millionaire in Northland as Christchurch’s $ 5.2 million prize has not been claimed

Someone in Northland is having a Wednesday night they will never forget, winning $ 4.2 million from Lotto’s First Division Powerball.

The winning ticket was sold on MyLotto and is comprised of $ 4 million from Powerball First Division and $ 250,000 from Lotto First Division.

The big win comes just four days after someone in Christchurch made $ 5.2 million.

That prize, which belongs to the owner of a ticket purchased from the Hornby Mall Lotto, has yet to be claimed, as of Wednesday night.

“Powerball is definitely on a winning streak and tonight’s victory brings us to twelve millionaires in the first twelve weeks of 2021,” said Kirsten Robinson, Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, Lotto NZ.

Three other Lotto players took home prizes Wednesday night, each winning $ 250,000 with the Lotto First Division.

Winning lottery tickets were sold at Hornby Mall Lotto in Christchurch and online at MyLotto to Ashburton and Christchurch players.

Strike Four was also won tonight by a player from Auckland, who took home $ 600,000.

Anyone who has purchased their ticket from a winning store must write their name on the back of their ticket and verify it at any Lotto NZ point of sale, online at MyLotto.co.nz or through the Lotto NZ app.
