A woman was seriously injured in an alleged assault on a popular Christchurch playground.

Police were called shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday to receive reports that a woman was assaulted at the Margaret Mahy playground on Armagh St in central Christchurch, a police spokeswoman said.

She reportedly hit her head on concrete and was initially helped at the scene by people with medical training, a witness said. Things.
