Armed police guard a cordon around a home in Glendene, where a seriously injured person was found.
West Auckland Police are searching for a car following a “firearms incident” that left a man seriously injured.

Police received the incident report on Kirby St around 7:19 a.m. Saturday after the report that a gun had been fired, police said.
One man has suffered serious injuries, a spokeswoman said.
Wanted for a white Honda Stream, which has been reported as a stolen vehicle, in connection with the incident.
“Any sighting of the vehicle should be reported to the police at 111.”
A spokeswoman for St John confirmed that two ambulances, a manager and a first responder unit with a doctor were called to the scene and took the patient to hospital.
He couldn’t say which hospital they were taken to.
A house on the road has been bricked up and the police are standing guard.
Officers were also conducting door-to-door interviews with neighboring properties.
A Kirby St resident said Things he heard a rumble around 7 in the morning, which he thought was car noises on the street.
He could see armed policemen, ambulances, and police dogs from his window.
The police had knocked on his door to tell him to stay inside.
“I’m shaking,” she said, adding that she felt nervous not knowing what had happened.
