Bachelor NZ Episode 3 Recap: Moses Mackay Drops L-Word And A Failure

Tonight’s episode began with an accelerated rose ceremony that felt more like being chosen for a dodgeball team in PE than a ceremony.

Finally, after an eternity of anxious waiting, we get to the last two: Sabby and Steph. His internal monologues were undoubtedly high-pitched screams. Dun dun dun.

Moses says, “Steph, will you accept this rose?”

Poor Sabby was disappointed, but don’t worry, Queen, there are a lot of fish in the sea.

And speaking of the sea, we were welcomed on the unique date with none other than the beautiful Lou.

Lou is terrified of the sea and, in typical Lou fashion, she was determined to look at the sunny side of the situation. In an inspiring tone that rivaled any life coach I’d heard on any motivational podcast: “When am I going to have the next time to do this?”

BRB, framing those words and posting them on my wall whenever I have to face my fears.

You’ve probably seen the teaser and wondered, does the bachelor die on a jet ski? Instead, you should ask where Moisés got his glasses from because they’re next-level daring and I’m here for that.

After Moses had fun with his new favorite toy, he handed the reins to Lou, who wasted no time going from 0 to 100.

Lou gave us some zig-zag action, which looked shockingly like a Kiwi parent driving a boat when he tries to pull the cookie on you. It looks like the beauties are about to swim with the fish, your heart races because Lou can’t swim and just as they were about to dive in, they come back with twice as much force.

Ugh, what a relief that was. He couldn’t really cope with the secondhand fear he felt. Seeing it, I felt as if I was thrown into the middle of the ocean.

Back ashore, they sat down to a very romantic-looking picnic and Moses threw a bomb into the confession chamber.

“So much courage and strength, I love that about her.” Excuse me, was that the word with L Moses? I see them on the other side because I am sending these two forever.

Back at the mansion, the girls started the “Bachelorette Open” and the winner had a one-on-one time with Moses without interruption. Sounds good to me.

Back in the ocean of love, Lou and Moses continued their date and it was so cute. Lou admitted that this was her first individual date (at the Bachelor’s and in real life), so Moses put on a washer to make her feel more comfortable. He proceeded to ask a deep and personal question that led to Lou inspiring us all with his bravery as he spoke about his late fiancé Sam.

To the surprise of anyone familiar with our bachelor, Moses was filled with nothing but support for Lou, and he cautiously put his hand on Lou’s arm. At one point, it seemed like it hurt more than it did her. He is a truly empathetic man.

“She is a very special person,” Moses says, and I screamed like a giddy high school student when he handed Lou a rose.

Cirrus and Shenae were the last standing at the Bachelorette Open.

The sidelines were full of enemy girl gang vibes. When the match started, it ended as fast as it started, who would say that tennis is such a fast game? But before Cirrus could claim her prize, a group date was arranged about the gang.

Art turned the date around and told the girls that they would have to complete a series of challenges before buying time alone with Moses. Negin and Lana were the targets of best friends and they achieved the challenge. Chanel and Steph showed their strong personalities.

Elsewhere, Niki and Kayla were overwhelmed and took a little break to meditate. Once the challenge was over, Art revealed that there is no clear winner, so the single women will have to decide among themselves who will have time alone with Moses. Absolutely worth a moan.

The girls decide that Steph is worth the time and jogs off to see Moses, but after an awkward conversation at surface level, the two decided that there didn’t seem to be a connection between the two.

Back at the mansion, everyone dressed up for a cocktail party and Cirrus prepared for her time with Moses. But the clueless Bachelor passed directly by her side. Oh.

Chanel decided to fire her shot, asking for some alone time, and Moses doesn’t say no. Good job girl.

Kimi asks, “Have you ever tried to shoot and a girl said no?”

Wow, it looks like it’s hit a nerve, but surprise, surprise, you’ll have to look tomorrow to find out why.
