Police are looking for Jahrome Simon, who is believed to be “frequenting” Whanganui, Palmerston North and Hamilton.

Police officers are searching for a 20-year-old man in connection with a homicide investigation in Wellington’s Karori.

In a press release Wednesday, police said Jahrome Simon had an arrest warrant for conspiring to pervert the course of justice.

Simon is believed to “frequent” Whanganui, Palmerston North, and Hamilton.

Simon’s search is related to Operation Skyline, a homicide investigation into the death of Rau Tongia, who was shot and killed in the early hours of December 20 in the Skyline Reserve area next to Percy Dyett Drive in Karori.

So far, six people have been charged after the 33-year-old’s death, but police continue to ask the public for details.

On Monday, Detective Sgt. Steve Wescott said that although police had already recovered the used firearm, they were still seeking more information on who had the weapon in the days and weeks leading up to the shooting.

“Police are also continuing to investigate whether there were others who assisted the main offender that night,” Wescott said.

Further arrests and charges have not been ruled out.
