Police at the scene of a firearms incident off Auckland’s North Shore Friday night.
One person is in hospital in stable condition after being shot off Auckland’s north shore.
A spokeswoman said police received calls from members of the public about gunshots that were heard on Cadness St in Northcote around 7 p.m.
“Upon attending, it was established that a person had been transported to North Shore Hospital with a gunshot wound,” he said.
“We are doing more research on the matter.”
The person was stable and the police Eagle helicopter was also present, he said.
The Armed Offenders Brigade (AOS) was not present.
TO Things The journalist at the scene said there were several police officers visible and that the investigation appeared to be focused on Cadness Reserve, which officers were searching with flashlights.
A police roadblock has been installed on College Rd and Cadness St, with an armed officer at the curb.
Cadness St was blocked at the other end just past the reservation.
