The White House deputy press secretary was suspended after threatening a reporter writing about his personal life.
White House Deputy Press Secretary TJ Ducklo was suspended for a week without pay after threats and derogatory statements he made to a Political reporter were made public.
Ducklo berated journalist Tara Palmeri after calling Ducklo’s girlfriend Alexi McCammond for a story Political he was writing about their relationship.
McCammond is a reporter for Axios who had previously covered Biden’s campaign, changing at a different pace once his relationship with Ducklo began.
Although Ducklo was contacted by another male reporter, he decided to call Palmeri. In the call she threatened Palmeri and accused her of being jealous of their relationship.

“I will destroy you,” Ducklo said, reportedly in Vanity fair.
The report claims that Ducklo hinted that Palmeri was covering the story as revenge for McCammond’s previous relationship with a third person. Palmeri has no relationship with McCammond and was assigned the story as part of his role in Politico.
Biden’s press secretary Jen Psaki shared on Twitter that Ducklo has been punished.
“TJ Ducklo has apologized to the reporter, with whom he had a heated conversation about his personal life. He is the first to acknowledge that this is not the standard of behavior set by the president. In addition to his initial apology, he sent the reporter a personal note expressing his deep regret, ”he wrote.
“With the approval of the White House Chief of Staff, he has been suspended without pay for a week. Also, when you return, you will no longer be assigned to work with any reporters at Political. “
Ducklo’s actions and punishment go against the statements made by Biden on his first day in office. At a swearing-in ceremony for his appointees, the president said he had a zero tolerance policy for disrespect.
“I’m not kidding when I say this: if you ever work with me and I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect, talk to someone, I promise I’ll fire you on the spot,” he said. “No ifs, ands, or buts.”
