The two people found dead on Hāwera’s property in an alleged double homicide early Monday were a father and son, it can be revealed.
Police discovered the bodies of Stephen Grant Frost and his son Regan Frost Lawn after being called to a home on Manawapou Rd around 2.50am.
A double homicide investigation has been launched and a 21-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Frost and Frost Lawn, court documents reveal.
He appeared before Judge Tony Greig in New Plymouth District Court Monday afternoon on two counts of murder.
Judge Greig issued a provisional name expungement order and ordered the defendant to reappear in New Plymouth Superior Court on February 9.
In an emailed statement, police said examinations of the scene would continue Tuesday and autopsies would also be performed on the two bodies.
