Trump and Antifa supporters clash in violent protest

Trump supporters and counter-protesters have clashed in wild scenes on Pacific Beach in San Diego.

A pro-Trump “Patriot March” yesterday descended into chaos after counter-protesters also arrived at the pier where some 100 Trump supporters had gathered.

The counter-protesters wore black, many saying they were Black Lives Matter supporters and others describing themselves as anti-fascists and wearing Antifa clothing.

Tempers began to flare around 1 pm when the two groups clashed, and protesters began shouting.

As the situation continued to deteriorate, police officers were beaten with glass bottles, eggs and stones, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Footage from the scene shows a group of Antifa protesters facing off with a smaller group of pro-Trump protesters.

A man can be heard yelling “Fuck Trump” as the two groups face off against each other.

One of the Antifa members then pulls out a can and sprays an unknown orange substance on the faces of Trump supporters.

As Trump’s group flees, covering their faces, the counter-protesters chase them, throwing objects and yelling “go home, bitches.”

Police declared the protest illegal at around 2.30pm due to continued violence.

“Those who remain or return contrary to this legal order may be summoned / arrested and risk exposure to chemical agents and less lethal applications of force,” police said in a tweet.
