The Satay Noodle House in Panmure was the scene of a violent attack that left the owner in serious condition in hospital.
An incident at Satay Noodle House in the Auckland suburb of Panmure left the owner in hospital seriously injured.
A police spokesman said police were investigating the incident after two people had an “altercation” outside the restaurant shortly before 5 pm.
According to witnesses Stuff spoke, the victim was the elderly owner of the popular Satay Noodle House.
A local, who only wanted to be identified as Gary, said that the owner of the restaurant was “a beautiful man” who would never hurt anyone.

He said a male customer had a verbal altercation with staff around 5 p.m.

A section of Queens Rd in Panmure was closed after the altercation.
“The owner never yells, never says something like that to customers, but they yelled at him a lot,” he said.
“The customer, refused to pay for his food, and then he tried to get money from the box and crossed the street. That’s where the owner was assaulted ”.
According to witnesses, the altercation spread to the street where another man jumped out of a parked car and attacked the owner of the restaurant.
“I think it was a friend or something, a big guy.
“He [the owner] He was punched, just once, but he fell and his head hit the road. That’s when the blood started [flowing], and the owner of Best Style Cutz next door called the ambulance. “

Locals say the owner is “a kind man” and the dispute was over the payment of a meal.
The customer allegedly removed his shirt to cover his vehicle’s license plate before accelerating.
A section of Queens Rd, near Pilkington Rd, was closed earlier but reopened.
The police were still on the scene.
