If you don’t need to travel in the eastern Bay of Plenty, hold still, police urge.
Bad weather has closed at least three roads in the eastern Bay of Plenty, with flooding and slipping frustrating travel plans.
State Highway 2 is closed between Nukuhou and Kutarere due to flooding, Bay of Plenty & Taupō police said.
There is a slip on the road in Waimana Gorge, between Taneatua and Waimana.
And a flood and a slip have closed SH2, Waioeka Gorge.
“If you don’t need to travel today, our advice is to avoid taking chances in this bad weather and stay where you are,” said a police statement.
The most up-to-date information on road closures is available on the Waka Kotahi NZ Transportation Agency website.
