The luxury pleasure boat rescued from Auckland Harbor last night was looted and looted while stranded on the rocks for days.
Leather interiors were cut out, accessories ripped out, and the fire suppression system activated, coating the interior of the ship with a caustic foam.
The damage was discovered yesterday when the 15.5m Lyndhurst it was brought from the rocks near the entrance to the Tāmaki river, off St Heliers beach, where it had been stranded since December 23.
Salvors said the vandals likely climbed aboard the 15.5-meter Riviera speedboat Sunday night and destroyed the interior of the ship.

The looters also stole most of the fishing equipment on board.
The ship also suffered extensive exterior damage when it ran aground.
Both engines were ripped off their mounts and the propellers were bent and broken.
The rescuers had to plug the holes in the aft thruster and fill them with expanding foam before water could be pumped from the boat.
What made the salvage operation that much more tentative was that the boat had just been filled with thousands of dollars of diesel.
Mitigating the risk of spilling that diesel into the bay was part of the reason the salvage operation took five days.
Earlier, a spokesperson for the Auckland Harbor Captain said the ship was not leaking oil, so it was not causing any problems.
Two people had to be rescued from the ship when it ran aground last week, while no injuries were reported.
Stuff I understand that the skipper of the ship had owned the ship for some time and was an experienced sailor.
They had to see the ship today to see the extent of the damage.
