Kane Williamson was the only New Zealander to be named to the ICC Men’s Test Team of the Decade.
Black Caps captain Kane Williamson has been named to the ICC men’s test team of the decade, while White Ferns supreme Suzie Bates was included in the ODI and Twenty20 women’s rosters.
Williamson, who underscored his credentials as one of New Zealand’s best hitters by scoring his 23rd Test in Test 1 against Pakistan at the weekend, has been named in an impressive lineup that includes David Warner, Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Alastair Cook. and Kumar Sangakkara.
The Boxing Day trials have produced some of the best cricket ever played on New Zealand soil.
New Zealand fast pitcher Trent Boult was included in the ODI side of the decade, but was unable to force his way onto the test team.
No Black Caps player was considered good enough to break the Twenty20 men’s side of the decade. Kohli from India is the only player to be named in all three formats in the men’s game.

White Ferns all-rounder Suzie Bates has been recognized for her tremendous performances in two forms of the game by being inducted into the ODI and Twenty20 women’s team.

Suzie Bates has been inducted into ICC’s Women’s Twenty20 and ODI teams of the decade.
Bates has scored eight of his 10 career ODI centuries in the past decade with a 46.64 batting average during that time frame.
Her teammate Sophie Devine was also featured on the Twenty20 side.

Sophie Devine has been recognized as one of the best Twenty20 players in the world, having been named to the ICC team of the decade.
Bates, Devine and Williamson have been shortlisted for the Player of the Decade Awards announced tomorrow.
