The Karori community in Wellington is facing a homicide investigation that has entered its second day.
Neighbors spoken to in the normally quiet suburb Monday said they heard a rumble from the cluster of houses where a man’s body was found early Sunday morning.
Police launched a homicide investigation after a family member found the man’s body at the address of Percy Dyett Dr around 8:20 a.m. Sunday.
Police confirmed that officers separately attended a Percy Dyett Dr property around 1.25 a.m. Sunday, following a report of a disorder incident.

It is understood that a party was being organized in the group of houses on Saturday night, which lasted until the early hours of the morning.
However, police did not say whether the call at 1.25 a.m. went to the same property where the man’s body was later found.
Police have not provided any updates on whether arrests had been made as of Monday morning, and the victim has not been named.

On Monday, the police were also standing guard at the front of the section.
On Monday, neighbors they spoke with said they heard screams coming from the group of three houses until late Saturday night.
“I just remember that it was very late, I was asleep and I woke up, there was just a lot of noise. I was not entirely consistent with that, ”said a neighbor.
“It was just a lot of noise, a lot of screaming. Just a bit of noise early in the morning. We woke up and thought … ‘I hope they shut up now’, and then we went back to sleep. Then we woke up to the news. Quite strange. It’s very out of place here.
“I just feel sorry for them.”

A house sits across the driveway, but it does not appear to be the focus of the homicide investigation.
The neighbor said that the tenants of the group of houses had been living in the property for about a year.
But other neighbors did not appear to know the tenants of the three properties, which have been cordoned off by police. All three houses share a driveway, with another house located in front of the driveway.
The group of three houses are all newly built.

At the scene, on Monday morning, police officers stood guard both at street level and above the shared driveway, with a tent erected near the trail for the police and staff of the Institute of Science and Research. Environmental (ESR).
Police said investigations into the disorder incident were part of the ongoing homicide investigation.
Staff would be at the crime scene for the next few days, police said previously.

The police would also reinforce their presence throughout the Karori community while speaking to witnesses and seeking to provide security for the locals.
Percy Dyett Dr is a long, winding, and quiet road in the western suburb, which overlooks two reservations.
