Donald Trump’s favorite media outlet seems to have turned against him.
Twitter has now changed its labels to reflect the fact that Joe Biden was the official winner of the US election, and is publishing that information with tweets from Trump, who is still discussing the facts.
The platform was already labeling any information “disputed” in Trump’s tweets, but has now changed the wording to inform people that the tweets are blatant disinformation.
While the earlier tags in Trump’s tweets indicated that “various sources called this election differently,” Twitter has now changed them to say that the election has been called for Biden.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that a Dutchman managed to log into Trump’s Twitter account in October simply by typing “MAGA2020!” in the password field.
“We believe that the hacker has really penetrated Trump’s Twitter account, but he has met the criteria that have been developed in case law to go free as an ethical hacker,” said the Dutch prosecutor’s office (OM).
He added that hacking was a crime in the Netherlands.
But “special circumstances, also known in practice as ‘responsible disclosure,'” could prevent prosecutors from taking action, the OM added.
Dutch prosecutors made their findings based on an investigation by the police’s specialized cyber unit called Team High-tech Crime.
“Both the hacker and the US authorities have been informed of the outcome of the investigation,” prosecutors said.
Despite Twitter hashtags and successful hacking attempts, the platform appears to remain one of Trump’s favorite ways to get his messages across to Americans and the world. The current president of the United States tweets several times a day.
