A mother and her 7-year-old daughter have been brutally controlled online after she shared a photo of her daughter’s extravagant pile of Christmas presents as others struggle to put food on the table.
Manchester’s mother Kayleigh Morgan splurged on her daughter Daisy at Christmas, spending over £ 600 (NZ $ 1,100).
In a photo posted on Facebook, the amount of gifts fills an entire room.
“It took four hours, but I finally wrapped my little girl’s gifts … although I don’t think she realizes it,” Morgan wrote.
But the post has received backlash, including comments labeling young Daisy as a “spoiled brat.”
In response to the nasty messages, the 26-year-old mother said Daisy deserves it because she does a lot of charity work and has raised over $ 2000 for good causes.
“Daisy is my only daughter, so I pamper her a lot, but she’s not a brat.
“She is a pageant girl for Natural Beauty Wales and does a lot of volunteer and community work.
“Throughout the year he has raised over a thousand pounds for a children’s cancer charity, as well as various collections for our local zoo, cat sanctuary and Women’s Aid,” Morgan told the Manchester Evening News.
Morgan explained that Daisy is an only child and always receives a room full of gifts.
A couple of years ago, he took Daisy to Disneyland for Christmas and still spent $ 1,400 on gifts.
This year he says he has cut back and old gifts are being given away again.
“She sorts her old toys to donate to children’s charities and regularly conducts collections for animal shelters and food banks.
“I have worked since I was 13 for everything we have.
“She’s a smart, kind-hearted girl and I don’t see why she shouldn’t be spoiled.”
Daisy’s gift this Christmas includes a new tablet, a real violin in a case, a large electronic keyboard, a Bluetooth speaker and karaoke machine, a Little Mix makeup set, a selfie light, and some LOL Surprise dolls.
As a fan of Spanish clothing, she also has a new Spanish dress and Spanish shoes for Christmas Day.
But while both Daisy and Morgan received a backlash, some moms jumped to the couple’s defense.
One said, “Wow, there really are some bitches here!
“So what, it’s your son, you can buy whatever you want for your son. Pathetic.”
Another added: “I absolutely hate posts like this. Not for the amount of gifts, but for all the fucking comments they get.”
