The children of a woman who died on a Hamilton property ran out of the house screaming “Mom is dead.”

Police received a report of an assault at an address in Kentucky Crescent around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, a police spokeswoman said.

There they found a 30-year-old woman seriously injured. He died at the scene shortly thereafter and a homicide investigation was launched.

A man living on the street, who did not want to be named, said the couple who lived there were kept secret.

He said he heard a scream the night of the death and then the children ran off screaming “Mommy is dead.”

“My neighbor also found out and called the police.”

He said that he had known the people who had lived in the house for years, since they moved in, and that they had been very quiet.

The incident shocked people on the street, a resident said.

The couple who lived there had just painted the fence.

“His parents were there all the time, almost every week.”

He said that death had shocked the street.

“We are all quite united… I say hello to all.

“They were really nice, it’s the last thing you thought would happen.”

One of the two boys went to the local school and said he was a “good boy.”

“Always happy and playing, playing with the other children in the street.”

Another person was taken to the hospital after the incident with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 34-year-old man was arrested and was assisting the police with their investigations.

No charges have been filed at this stage and the police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

There is a scene guard in the direction and a second direction while the investigators continue their examinations of the scene.
