A young man facing ammunition and firearms charges following an incident leading to the closure of a Wellington university received controlled bail.
The school was closed on November 26 after police received a “credible threat” related to the school.
“The threat made reference to Wellington High School, which was partially blocked for an hour as a precautionary measure while the incident was being fixed,” police said in a statement.
“We know this incident has been concerning and we urge anyone who has concerns about their safety or the safety of others to speak to the police immediately to report it.”
The teen received an electronically monitored bond from a community agency.
