“We want to assure our local residents that the direction involved appears to have been a specific target.”
It is not believed that there is any risk to the general public.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the house was still cordoned off and at least four police officers were on the scene conducting an examination of the scene.
A neighboring neighbor said the shots woke up her husband and then they heard a vehicle.
The resident said she had lived in the area for a long time without any problems, she was “quite shocked” by the incident.
“It’s hard to believe that it happened. We have elderly people and families on the streets, so it is quite difficult ”.
The house is under police surveillance and a living room window appears to have four bullet holes.
Another resident said he heard a “bang, bang” and thought “what’s going on?”
Witnesses reported seeing an older four-door vehicle leaving the area shortly after the shots were heard, heading north.
Police are interested in any additional sightings of a vehicle fitting this description in the area around 11pm.
An investigation was also being conducted into a vehicle fire in the vicinity of Mabel Bush Hall on Mill Road North at around the same time. Police were considering whether these two events were related.
Examinations of the scene were underway at both locations.
