The Killen Generating Station, a closed power plant in Ohio, collapsed on several workers preparing it for demolition.
Three workers were hospitalized and two were missing after a power plant being demolished in Ohio collapsed, authorities said.
Rescuers had to dig for hours Thursday (NZT) to free one of the workers from the rubble at the Killen generating station, Adams County Sheriff Kim Rogers said. Rogers said the worker was conscious.
It was not clear what caused the collapse.
“Next week, they were preparing to tear down that building and those piles. So this was kind of a setup to tear down that building,” the sheriff said.
