There are currently nine new cases of Covid-19 in New Zealand, all in isolation.

Of the nine cases, eight are considered active and the other has been considered a historic case by the Ministry of Health.

An active case arrived on November 30 from the UK via the US and tested positive in routine tests on day three.

A second case arrived on December 1 from Sweden via Qatar and Australia and tested positive in routine tests on day three. A third case arrived on November 23 from the US and was evaluated on the 10th, as it appeared symptomatic.

A fourth case was in the same travel bubble as a previously reported case and arrived on November 26 from South Africa.

Four of today’s cases, which traveled separately, arrived on November 30 from the United States.

Health officials say they all tested positive for routine tests on day three.

A ninth case is considered to have had a historical infection. They arrived on November 21 from the US via Hong Kong and tested positive on the 12th.

The Health Ministry said that further investigation indicated that it was a landmark case.

All active cases have been transferred to the Auckland quarantine facility.

Meanwhile, in the processing of the Pakistani men’s cricket team, 43 samples taken on day 9 gave negative results.

It comes when 10 of the total squad of 53 men have been confirmed with Covid-19.

The Director General of Health, Dr. Ashley Bloomfield, yesterday canceled the exemption from the training of the managed isolation team due to the “risk of cross infection”.

Eleven previously reported cases have been recovered, meaning that the total number of active New Zealand cases is 59.

The total number of confirmed cases in New Zealand since the start of the pandemic is 1,722.

The Health Ministry confirmed today’s figures in a statement.

Yesterday, no new cases of Covid-19 were reported either in managed isolation or in the community.
