An elephant that was rescued from Pakistan is settling into his new home in Cambodia, touching logs with his new friends.
The images show the 36-year-old male jumbo named Kaavan at the Cambodia Wildlife Sanctuary in Siem Reap province.
At dawn, he enjoyed a refreshing mud bath and then met one of his new neighbors, Di Poh, and they greeted each other by touching the tips of their trunks.
“Our three women seem a bit intimidated by him, he’s a big boy,” said Pedro, a staff member.

Kaavan will now spend the next few days meeting the other elephants, who have not met any new jumbos for over six years.
Pedro added: “We will give them time to get to know each other and the girls will let us know if or when they want more interaction.”
Kaavan, the only Asian elephant in Pakistan, was dubbed “the loneliest in the world” while at the Islamabad Zoo.
The plight of Kaavan, who was originally from Sri Lanka, sparked a worldwide uproar from animal rights groups, who launched a campaign to save him.
He finally saved after a social media campaign encouraged by singer Cher, who traveled to meet him at the ruined zoo.
