The First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, presented her Christmas exhibition “Beautiful America” at the White House less than two months after it was secretly recorded complaining about work.
On Twitter on Monday, FLOTUS posted a video and a series of images of its interior decorating scheme showing a series of ornate trees lit up for Christmas.
She walked the aisles wearing a gold blouse and a high-waisted black skirt, passing decorations that included a miniature train, a mini Air Force One, and some made by school children from across the United States.
“During this special time of year, I am delighted to share ‘America la Bella’ and pay tribute to the majesty of our great nation,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Together, we celebrate this land that we are all proud to call home.”
In a press release, Trump said that he had enjoyed the opportunity to see America for the past four years.
“From coast to coast, the bond that all Americans share is an appreciation for our traditions, values, and history, which were the inspiration behind this year’s decorations. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who worked to ensure that the House people were ready for the holiday season. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year. “
The decorations were as divisive as the Trumps themselves, with one social media user saying: “This should distract people as you pack up the White House cutlery and start posting it on eBay.”
“When is this account transferred to Dr. Jill Biden?” asked another, while another said “get out of our house.”
But others praised the elegant decorations, saying “This is pretty. Your decorator did well here” and “This really looks good” in the comments.
The hearing comes after she was heard complaining about working on secret tapes posted by her former friend and employee, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff.
The tapes were released while Wolkoff was promoting her memoir and appeared to show Melania complaining about Christmas work in June 2018 after visiting an immigrant detention center in Texas.
“They say I am an accomplice. I am the same as [President Trump]I support it, I do not say enough. I don’t do enough, “he said.
“I’m working like a – my ass – on Christmas things you know, who cares about Christmas things and decorations? But I have to, right?
“Okay, and then I do. And I say I’m working on Christmas planning for Christmas. And they said,” Oh, what about the kids that were separated? “
“Give me a fucking break. Where were they saying something when Obama did that?” she supposedly said.
Perhaps that explains the blood-red, “killer-looking” Christmas trees the First Lady commissioned in 2018, which social media users said looked like they were straight out of The Shining or The Handmaid’s Tale.
Christmas celebrations will be overshadowed in the United States this year by the raging coronavirus pandemic that is out of control across the country.
The president has also refused to officially concede the election result to Democrat Joe Biden and continues to claim he was rigged.
In November, Melania smiled when she received the epic 15-foot annual White House Christmas tree, this time without her husband or son by her side.
